The Avatar Repertory Theater: Alice Through The Looking Glass

I am doing some live blogging here at the Avatar Repertory Theater on the sim Cookie. The Avatar Repertory Theater Company is about to perform Alice Through The Looking Glass, a play that has been adapted from Lewis Carroll’s original play by Ada Radius (Judith Adele). A large and very talented production team is behind this almost 90 minute-long work and it shows; inspired by original Tenniel drawings, original costumes and a original music score based on familiar nursery rhymes, this work is outstanding. We first encounter Alice in her living room and then follow her on her escapades throughout a large chessboard where she first encounters the Red Queen who gives her advise on how to be royal, then Tweedledum and Tweedledee who battle and rattle, then Humpty Dumpty who sits on his wall and, finally, the Red and White knights who fight for her. And don’t ask me how it happened, but suddenly, in the midst of all this, the audience found itself sitting in a train! I haven’t experienced so much nonsense, confusion and madness in a long time; brilliant! This was one of only five performances of this play in Second Life. If you have the opportunity, make sure to see one of the other four; this is one of those one in a Second Life-time experiences that should not be missed.
