A Modern Lover, by D.H. Lawrence

Huckleberry Hax read A Modern Lover, by D.H. Lawrence at Nordan Art today. It was a full house, people were nested on the balcony on white plastic chairs, or on the ground, between the two rooms containing the beautiful works of romy Nayar. This short story by D.H. Lawrence was written in 1931, three years after his perhaps most well-known work, Lady Chatterly’s Lover. It’s a sensuous work, Huck read it beautifully. People were listening in silence, attentive, seemingly not wanting to miss a word. When the reading was over, some still lingered checking out the current exhibits. It was a truly wonderful evening, thank you everybody for coming! See also Apmel’s blog post for more on this event at http://apmel.blogspot.com/2012/01/bockers-dragningskraft.html.
Reading: Huck Hax reads Breakfast at Tiffany’s

Huckleberry Hax read tonight the first of three parts of Truman Capote’s Breakfast at Tiffany’s. It was a lovely evening, we all sat sort of nested on the balcony at Nordan Art, in between typote Beck’s works to the left and to the right, taking in the story of Holly Golightly, listening intently. Huck did a wonderful job relaying this classic work and I think we all didn’t really want it to come to an end. The two remaining parts of the story will be read on Saturday, October 1 and Sunday, October 2, both days at 3 PM SLT, please be on the lookout for announcements.
Reading: Huck Hax reads The Little Prince Part II

Huckleberry Hax read the second, and concluding part, of the Little Prince, by Antoine de Saint-Exupery, at Nordan Art today. Some of the people that came yesterday returned, but we also had newcomers. Just like last night, there was a childlike attentiveness to be witnessed amongst the audience. The part that described the Little Prince meeting the fox and getting advise on taming, which I think is most people’s favorite part of the story, was read. At this time a few comments on the beauty of the story were shared, several people disclosed they shed tears. I don’t know what it was, my friend and I talked about it later, there was some kind of group phenomenon going on, maybe a sense of mutual understanding and connectedness relating to this particular story. This was a most touching event, I think we all agreed. Huck will return to Nordan Art for more readings so be on the lookout for announcements. Asteroid B-612, above, by Igor Ballyhoo.

Huckleberry Hax returned to Nordan Art today to read the first part of The Little Prince, by Antoine de Saint-Exupery. What a beautiful event this was! The place was crowded, people were standing, or sitting on chairs, or on the floor, quietly listening, yes, like children. I can’t think of any other person that could have read this story better than Huck, he completely mastered this task and we were all in awe. And as is if this all wasn’t enough Igor Ballyhoo came and placed the perfect Little Prince asteroid, known as B-612, as a backdrop to Hucks’ reading. The second part of the story will be read by Huck tomorrow, same place and same time. Please come early if you want to get a spot!
Reading: Jayjay Zifanwe interprets Snow White

Sitting on Snow White’s glass coffin, a piece created by Faery Sola, Jayjay Zifanwe today gave an oral interpretation of the fairy tale Snow White as it had been told 5000 years ago. This was a dramatized version of the story, incorporating numerous well-known Second Life figures like, for instance, SaveMe Oh and Apmel Goosson. The audience encountered here a side of Jayjay previously unknown. The actor Jayjay, changed his voice to fit each individual in the story, successfully capturing the essence of their character. It was a surprise and a pleasure to experience Jayjay in this very playful and dramatic way. Looking forward to more! Check out Apmel Goosson’s blog about this too at http://apmel.blogspot.com/
Readings: Huck Hax reads poetry at Nordan Art

Last night, Huckleberry Hax read his own poetry as well as poems by Rainer Maria Rilke, Peter Handke, Sylvia Plath and others, at Nordan Art. This was the first Nordan Art poetry reading and it was nothing short of magical. Huck’s reading captivated the audience, truly, I think we were all mesmerized by his thoughtful way of delivering poetry. Let’s just say, he has a way with words. The reading took place on the balcony on the second floor. The delicate architecture of the Nordan Art build with the blue water in the background, the sound of the fountains quietly sizzling throughout and the occasional bubble from Natsha Lemton’s art work finding its way to the audience group seemed to make this setting the perfect place for this particular event. Huck has agreed to come back for more readings so be on the look out for announcements!
