Oh, boy. This was the opening that was supposed to take place on November 26, but the sim crashed and the whole thing had to be cancelled. But Nordan Art resident DJ, Eifachfilm Vacirca, and most artists and visitors, returned today, November 27, at 2 PM SLT instead to view the works by Alizarin Goldflake, Piedra Lubitsch, Robin Moore, romy Nayar, Scottius Polke and Stephen Venkman, this time without any interruptions. It was a wonderful event, the first time six artists showed their work at the same time at Nordan Art; people engaged with the art, clicked on things to become part of it, walked, teleported or flew from one place to another. The music was phenomenal as usual and people were dancing the night away; nobody else spins tunes like Eif (for the music from this Nordan Art opening event please check out http://eifachfilm.ch/bm/detail.php?c=1&i=395b1b7a868e74f016e571f8879c0c90bf241360&t=1). This exhibit goes until January 23, 2012. Come and explore these intriguing works for your self, you can find them all over the Nordan om Jorden sim: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Nordan%20om%20Jorden/138/50/2502. Next opening on February 4, 2012, showing Giovanna Cerise, Ux Hax, Koto Nizna, ColeMarie Soleil and JadeYu Fhang. Also, Nordan Art is hosting from January 26 to January 29, 2012 Museo del Metaverso’s Art & Poetry event and from January 25 to February 15, 2012 an Arte Libera in Sogno exhibit. Please be on the lookout for announcements.
Östan om Solen by Rebeca Bashly
Posted: October 17, 2011 Filed under: Openings 2 Comments »There is a special two-week Halloween themed exhibit, Östan om Solen, by Rebeca Bashly to be seen at Nordan Art at the moment. Crooked houses, pumpkins, ghosts and all kinds of interactive experiences awaits the curious visitor. This is again a highlight of the marvelous work of Rebeca; the shapes, the textures and the overall composition join to create a magnificent whole. There is darkness and mystery surrounding this installation, so very beautiful. Set environmental settings to midnight for optimal experience. Come over and take a look, this exhibit ends on October 31, 2011. Once you arrive at Nordan Art, click the teleport poster next to the pumpkin in front of the gallery steps. This was a truly wonderful opening. People were excited to see the works by Simotron Aquila, typote Beck, Artistide Despres and oona Eiren. These builds can be seen on the inside and the outside of the gallery and there was a teleporting and running back and forth! People were dancing (thanks for the anti-gravity dance, Praxis) all night long to the tunes of Nordan Art resident DJ Eifachfilm Vacirca. For a MP3 recording of all the music that was played last night (Björk, Bill, Dunproofin, Totom, Kleptones, Prog electronica and more) go to http://d-oo-b.ch/?id=44. Also, people contacted me during and after the show, letting me know how the art had moved them and how they had a great time. This touched me, thank you. This exhibit will be showing at Nordan Art until November 19, 2011. Photo second to bottom by Huckleberry Hax. Bottom photo of fiona Blaylock and Eifachfilm Vacirca, by Eifachfilm Vacirca. Next opening showing Alizarin Goldflake, Piedra Lubitsch, Robin Moore, romy Nayar, Scottius Polke and Stephen Venkman on November 26, 2011. Please be on the look out for announcements. This was another five hour long opening at Nordan Art, showing the intriguing works by Theoretical Afterthought, Igor Ballyhoo, Cherry Manga, Anley Piers and lalie Sorbet. People were blown away by these creations, walking, teleporting or flying in between the exhibition spaces. The DJ Eifachfilm Vacirca played some great tunes and people danced the night away. Unfortunately, due to the fact that the gallery is located on a homestead, only 20 people could visit at a time, which caused waiting problems. I apologize for this, please check out the gallery over the next two months, it will be less crowded. Next exhibit, showing Simotron Aquila, typote Beck, Artistide Despres and oona Eiren, will take place from September 17 to November 19, 2011. Please be on the look out for announcements.

This was one kick-ass, five-hour-long opening showing the works of Simotron Aquila, claudia222 Jewell, Paola Tauber and shellina Winkler. On the ground floor, Paola’s sensual photography left people wanting more. On the first floor, Simotron’s fine and very modern work contrasted wonderfully with the beautifully intricate works by claudia in the modern annex tower. In the garden, people climbed the vertical chessboard and gazed in astonishment over the other chess parts, all created by shellina. Music was DJd by eifacfilm Vacirca and when people weren’t walking or flying around taking in the art, they were dancing the night away. Bottom photo by eifacfilm Vacirca. Next opening showing Theoretical Afterthought, Igor Ballyhoo, Cherry Manga, Anley Piers and lalie Sorbet on July 9, 2011.

Oh, it was a beautiful almost four hour long event at Nordan Art! The delicate ice statues by Rebeca Bashly, the magical Susa Bubble installation by Rose Borchovski and the sensual photography by Helene Lytton all complemented each other wonderfully. People were flying and walking between the gallery and the garden, seemingly not wanting to miss a thing! The exhibit goes to April 30th, make sure not to miss it. Next Nordan Art opening on May 7, 2011 at 2 PM SLT showing Simotron Aquila, Claudia222 Jewell, Paola Tauber and shellina Winkler. Photo above by ColeMarie Solei.

It seems there was an explosion of color, movement and sound at Nordan Art tonight. What a spectacular show it was! It was a Betty Tureaud extravaganza with the music of Ultraviolet Alter complementing her works perfectly. People were walking around for long periods of time, exploring the interactive art, pressing buttons and jumping into balls, wanting more color and movement. Ultra’s music was magical and we literally danced for hours. I apologize to those of you were not able to teleport in due to sim limitations. Take a look at Apmel Goosson’s blog on this event as well at http://apmel.blogspot.com/. Please come and check out this exhibit when you have a chance, it goes until February 22, 2011. Next opening, showing Rebeca Bashly, Rose Borchovski and Helene Lytton, on March 5, 2011 at 2 PM. Photos above by Betty Tureaud.

What an incredible four hour long opening this was! The art works by typote Beck, Syn Beresford, Feathers Boa, soror Nishi and Trill Zapatero are truly intriguing and left people wanting more. From being lost in a wave of brilliant colors in Trill’s installation in the sky to ice skating in soror’s winter garden, there was never a dull moment. The visitors were curiously playful and there were a lot of spontaneous moments involving colorful particles and machinery. I haven’t had this much fun in a long time Second Life! I apologize to those of you were not able to teleport in due to sim limitations. Please come and check out this exhibit when you have a chance. Next opening, a solo exhibit showing Betty Tureaud, on January 22, 2011.

Posted: September 19, 2010 Filed under: Openings Leave a comment »The Nordan Art opening on September 18, showing Kicca Igaly, Natsha Lemton, Del May and Bliss Violet, was a great success. (Unfortunately, at times, due to the heavy attendance and the limits of the sim in regards to handle such influx, it was laggy and people could not TP in). The works of these four talented female artists (from Australia, England, France and Italy) seemed to stop people in their tracks and much time was spent processing the experience of the art. People used words like “elegant,” “sensual” and “magical” to describe their impressions. While all gallery space is easily accessible, it’s easy to overlook the TP to the roof (the TP is on top of the staircase), please don’t miss it. Check out this exhibit, it runs from September 18 to November 12, 2010. Next opening, showing typote Beck, Syn Beresford, Feathers Boa, soror Nishi and Trill Zapatero, on November 20 at 2 PM SLT.

The heavily attended premier opening on July 23, 2010 showed the mezmerising work of Second Life artist veteran nessuno Myoo, the stunning photography of Paola Tauber and the edgy 3D art by treebee Withnail. Last day of this must see exhibition is on September 10, 2010. Next opening, showing Kicca Igaly, Natsha Lemton, Del May and Bliss Violet, on September 18, 2010 at 2 PM SLT.
